Nashville, TN - (January 9, 2008) - David Nasser is set to release his book, A Call To Die for the first time ever to retail. Independently released in 2000, the book has already sold over 125,000 copies and will now be available in stores February 12, 2008 (Word Distribution).
Not just a self-published author, Nasser is an established speaker, visionary, and minister with a calling to connect people of all ages to the living God. He speaks in front of more than 700,000 people annually.
The retail version of A Call To Die will be newly packaged with a redesigned cover, updated text, and a personal foreword written by singer/songwriter and recording artist Chris Tomlin. While the book received a fresh new look, the subject matter remains. A Call To Die is an intensive 40-day devotional journey of fasting from the world while feasting on God. Written with his candid and unrelenting passion, Nasser calls out to the reader who longs to answer the call of God, the call to die, while summoning the reader to dare define Christ’s radical call.
“The forty devotions of this book read as testimony to the fact that David Nasser is not afraid to stand for what is right,” says Tomlin. “Page after page, you see the mixture of David's passionate and non-passive approach to the truth, mixed in with illustrations about his own depravity and need for a savior. The urgency that shouts from these pages never comes from an author who pretends to have it all figured out, but rather from someone who is in desperate need of grace as he answers the call.”
Averaging 200 dates a year speaking at festivals, camps, conferences and special events, Nasser will kick off 2008 joining worship duo Shane & Shane and band Starfield for a four-month extensive nationwide spring tour. Tour dates are listed below.
Nasser is not new to music concert touring, as he accompanied artists Newsboys and TobyMac in 2006, visiting 33 cities within the U.S. “Whether speaking or writing, David is fast rising up as one of today's new, relevant voices,” claims Toby Mac, artist and singer/songwriter. “This generation demands ‘the real’ and that’s exactly what David delivers.”
A Call To Die’s 2000 release put Nasser on the author map and allowed him to continue utilizing his writing talents. 2005 offered the independent release A Call To Grace, while 2007 brought his readers Glory Revealed: How the Invisible God Makes Himself Known. The latter was accompanied by a special event worship CD, Glory Revealed, (Reunion Records), which included inspired songs from such artists as Mac Powell (Third Day), Steven Curtis Chapman, Shane & Shane, Michael W. Smith, Mark Hall (Casting Crowns), Brian Littrell, David Crowder, among others. This also allowed Nasser to tour the nation to promote the project, where he was joined by many of its artists, including Powell, Shane & Shane, and Brian Littrell.
Born in Iran and raised Muslim, Nasser fled to America with his family when he was only nine years old. Through numerous cultural ups and downs during his adolescence, Nasser found Christ while visiting a church with friends when he was 18. Today, he is the visionary behind D. Nasser Outreach (DNO), which allows him to speak to more than 700,000 people each year at revivals, citywide rallies, festivals, camps, conferences, concerts, and special events. DNO, founded by Nasser, aims to connect people with God, mentors and consults other Christian leaders, allowing the outreach to work with such ministries as Billy Graham Association, Youth Specialties, Student Life, Acquire the Fire, as well as the Nor th American Mission Board. Never concerned with building a big ministry or platform, Nasser simply wants to present a relevant message of Jesus to a hurting world.
